Years ago, I found this recipe for taco meat on the back of a bottle of Red Hot. Nothing could be easier or more flavorful. A quick and easy meal that only gets better as the flavors marry together… hooray leftovers! Even though it takes less than a half hour from start to finish, I like to let the meat sit on low in the pan for another hour, just to let the meat soak up all the spices. If you are serving a crowd that likes a milder flavor, use mild salsa.
Don’t get rid of the fat that runs off the meat! It imparts so much delicious flavor! Especially if you are using a combination of turkey meat, it needs all the extra fat it can get. If you are concerned about the extra calories, simply use a slotted spoon to let some of the juices run off as you serve.
Serve this on a salad, with chips, in tacos, in eggs… you get the idea! Anyway you choose to enjoy it, I recommend also preparing a Quick and Easy Fresh Guacamole!
